rain or shine

8 am until the plants run out!

As always, Proud Market, the Garden Center’s annual plant sale, will take place on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, in the grassy area out front of Warner Castle. This is at least our 28th annual plant sale; no one remembers exactly when it started, or what the name means. But it is believed that “Proud Market” refers to the pride with which sellers offer their special plants.

Many of you are familiar with this event, and need no further encouragement. In case you haven’t yet made it to Proud Market, it is a great opportunity to buy all manner of plants, many of them unusual or hard to find, at really great prices. We have several regular vendors–garden clubs and small independent plant specialists– and you can count on some real “finds”. Lots of perennials, shrubs and trees, as well as annuals and vegetables. Come early because plants sell out fast.

Donate Your Extra Plants to Benefit RCGC. Sales benefil our education program. We need your perennial divisions, extra annuals, etc.

Label your plants, preferably with:

  • common name
  • botanical name
  • eventual size
  • sun, soil, & moisture preferences
  • hardiness
  • bloom time & color

At a minimum, please note the common name and bloom color.

Drop off your plants at the Garden Center any time during the week before Proud Market. If stopping by after hours, you can leave them in the courtyard behind Warner Castle.

Vendors: please contact Carrie Remis at 585/473-5130 or rcgc.remis@gmail.com for more information.
